Moore Nature Reserve 6 December 2022
The birding group visit to Moore Nature Reserve didn’t sound particularly interesting to me but it turned out to be a very nice morning with a nice smattering of thrushes, Song and Mistle Thrush, and Redwing. We also saw Treecreeper and Nuthatch, Goldcrest and a nice group of about 8 Siskins.

WWT Martin Mere 29th November 2022
This was only the second birding day out of the month. A combination of factors had led to us not doing much birding so it was good to get out again, especially to Martin Mere which had been closed for some months due to Bird Flu.

Pennington Flash 1st November 2022
The first birding group trip of November was supposed to be to Sandbach FLashes but road closures meant that we could not get there and the usual alternative emerge – Pennington Flash. Parkgate, Riverside Road, Neston Old Quay, and Burton Mere Wetlands 25th October 2022
The birding group day out on the 25th October took in a range of sites on the Wirral, starting off with Parkgate where there was a 9.5 metre high tide at 11:48am – not particularly high but it was a beautifully sunny, clear day with fantastic visibility all the way over to Wales.

Hoylake and Burton Mere Wetlands 11th October 2022
We joined the birding group on our first group day since our Scotland trip and it was for a high tide on the Wirral – 9.5 m at 12:48pm. With such a late tide we were able to stop off at Moels first, where we saw a small flock of Common Scoters out at sea
