2022 Annual Summary
January saw us catch some high tides at Hoylake, New Brighton and Denhall Quay. On the 4th of January our sightings included Marsh and Hen Harriers, Purple Sandpipers, Grey Plovers, Sanderling and, generally, a good range of birds. A visit to the Wirral towards the end of the month (20th January) gave us Short-eared Owl

Moore Nature Reserve 6 December 2022
The birding group visit to Moore Nature Reserve didn’t sound particularly interesting to me but it turned out to be a very nice morning with a nice smattering of thrushes, Song and Mistle Thrush, and Redwing. We also saw Treecreeper and Nuthatch, Goldcrest and a nice group of about 8 Siskins.

WWT Martin Mere 29th November 2022
This was only the second birding day out of the month. A combination of factors had led to us not doing much birding so it was good to get out again, especially to Martin Mere which had been closed for some months due to Bird Flu.

Pennington Flash 1st November 2022
The first birding group trip of November was supposed to be to Sandbach FLashes but road closures meant that we could not get there and the usual alternative emerge – Pennington Flash.
