Birding Group Schedule – Autumn 2025
Provisional schedule for Autumn term 2025 as suggested on 1 Jul 2025
The following dates/venues were arrived at considering the following:
There are very few spring tides (9.5 metres or above) before 2026. We wanted one slot for Leighton Moss and one for Hoylake. In both cases a Tuesday was a lower tide at an earlier time of day. It was accepted that we could try the nearest Thursday instead when the tides would be both higher and later in the day.
The 14th of October was considered a good date for Hilbre Island as the tide times are (High) 7.4 @ 5:04am, (Low) 2.9m @ 11:41am, (High) 5:42pm. Those with experience of the tides for Hilbre should make sure this is both correct and suitable nearer the time.
The 21st of October was chosen for North Wales, Little Orme, Conwy etc as it is the last Tuesday before the clocks go back.
The following list is, of course, open to revision or improvement but is a starting point.
