Birding Group
The first birding group day of the month was to Moore Nature Reserve which tuned out to be very quiet. The best views in the sky were of two Airbuses passing each other above our heads. This was in contrast to the rest of the month which was filled with our holiday in Mallorca and tail-ended by a very different visit to Burton.
Holiday Birding
This autumn we again decided to go to Mallorca for a break and plenty of birding. Our itinerary, birding wise can be found here. Suffice it to say we had a fantastic holiday; ven though the weather was rather poor the birding was the opposite.
Solo Birding Days Out
At the other end of the month, after we got back from Mallorca, we managed to squeeze in a high tide at Hoylake, Parkgate and Burton Mere Wetlands which was much better than we expected at only 10 metres ! At Parkgate we got some memorable views of Great White Egrets and at Burton we got a couple of year ticks in the shape of Brambling and Lesser Redpoll.
