There were only two birding group outings for December before we finished for Christmas. The first of these was to Leosowe, Parkgate and Little Neston on 2 Dec 2025. It was a lovely, sunny day and we did a circular route down the promenade nearly as far as the groyne before scrambling over the little wall to get to the paddocks and returning from there. We didn’t see anything special but got a good variety of waders.
The second outing was less auspicious with heavy rain forecast at Moore Nature Reserve on the 9th December 2025 . Although there was some, mainly it stayed dry and we managed to get late-year-tick Redwings. From there we went on to “Pesto at The Walton Arms” where we had booked a table for the group to have lunch and plan our next session for the new year – see here for that.
