December was fairly quiet but we managed a visit to Burton Mere Wetlands on the 3rd December 2024 which was fairly quiet but a lovely day. We also went on to Neston Old Quay. The following week was the last birding group morning of the term and that was on 10th December at Marbury Park where we got a last gasp (for the year) Treecreeper and some nice Goldcrests. We went on to the Spinner and Bergamot for our planning session after that.

On the 16th December we went on our own to the Wirral for a high tide where we took in Hoylake, New Brighton Marine Lake and Parkgate getting year-tick Sanderling and Purple Sandpipers.

The rest of the month was very cold and some inclement weather kept us at home for most of the time preparing for Christmas.

Garden wildlife is pretty quiet with just a minimum of birds in the garden.
