Marbury Country Park and Budworth Mere : 1st December 2015

Marbury Country Park and Budworth Mere : 1st December 2015

The first December birding group date was in danger of being cancelled due to the bad weather but we did find one place with a fair forecast and that was Marbury Country Park and Budworth Mere. The day turned out to be quite pleasant and we had a couple of nice sightings in Kingfisher and Great Spotted Woodpecker and some Redwing and a single Fieldfare. We went on to the “Spinner & Bergamot” in Comberbach for a good pub lunch and our end of term planning meeting.

We had phoned the pub up in advance and arranged for a big table and there were about eight of us there; not Richard or David Hulse, which was a shame, but we managed to knock up a schedule anyway. We still have a Tuesday next week at Martin Mere for further tickling of the schedule but for the moment it is :

Jan 12    Pennington

Jan 19    Burton

Jan 26    Tatton Park

Feb 2     Neumann’s Flash

Feb 9     Parkgate (high tide); and then possibly New Brighton

Feb 16   half term – but we could still decide to go out/to be discussed further

Feb 23   NORTH WALES – day trip

Mar 1     Frodsham

Mar 8     Moore

Mar 15   MARSHSIDE – day trip

Mar 22   Marbury

Then it is Easter.
